Geert-Jan Alexander Knoops is a Dutch national who has earned a reputation as one of the leading criminal lawyers in The Netherlands. He is a president both of Knoops & Horrelt International Law at The Hague and of the law firm Knoops & Partners, a firm working in conjunction with the Forensic Sciences Expert Centre, both established in Amsterdam. Dr.Knoops is the author of various articles and the recently published book, Defenses in Contemporary International Criminal Law (Transnational Publishers 2001).
