War and Migration—Social Networks and Economic Strategies of the Hazaras of Afghanistan

Focusing on the case of the Hazaras, a population from central Afghanistan, this book shows how migration studies and transnationalism are at the heart of theoretical and methodological debates which animate anthropology.

Alessandro Monsutti has carried out several field researches in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iran since 1993. Having been educated at the Institute of Ethnology of the University of Neuchatel (Switzerland), he teaches social anthropology and methods in social sciences at the Graduate Institute of Development Studies (Geneva).
