商品簡介
Intended for math coaches for grades K-8 and their supervisors, this work provides resources for 12 to 14 math coach training sessions that vary in length from 2 to 4 hours. The materials for each session include a real-life case written by a math coach, followed by group discussion questions, and either a math activity designed to strengthen content knowledge, or a planning activity. The cases illustrate coaching themes typical across urban and suburban settings and across math curriculum programs. The first section of the book contains 12 chapters on the coaching process, relationships with colleagues and administrators, and strategically aligning coaching goals with district structures. The second section is a facilitator guide for those leading the training sessions, with chapter-by-chapter notes on session goals, ideas for understanding the cases, detailed session agendas, and writing assignments, plus examples of typical questions from participants and suggestions for facilitator responses. There is no subject index. Morse is affiliated with the Education Development Center's Math Leadership Program. Annotation c2009 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
