商品簡介
The National Council of Teachers of English produced this volume of 14 essays, all based on personal experience, by academics and three graduate students in writing, rhetoric, literature, and English. They discuss the thorny issues surrounding the now long-standing practice of extensive use in post-secondary institutions of poorly paid, little recognized, and overworked part-time faculty, in this case, of writing and composition. The essays are grouped into three parts: specific instances of transforming part-time faculty's cultural and material condition, union issues, and rethinking the status quo. Schell teaches writing and rhetoric at Syracuse U., New York; Stock teaches English at Michigan State U. Annotation c. Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
