This major Chinese study systematically introduces the research on human rights theory, the construction of human rights, and the international communication of human rights since the founding of new China. The book summarizes the great achievement on human rights construction in China and examines related aspects. It is divided into the following three sections: 1) general issues - discussing the definition of human rights, human rights theory, human rights development in China, and the scientific approaches to human rights; 2) specific issues - incorporating the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and International Covenants on Human Rights, the Chinese constitution to analyze and expound on the economy, society, cultural right, civil rights, and political rights; and 3) external communications - which sees the author combine Human Rights Dialogue, reports, and major speeches between China and foreign countries.
