The authors engage with the body of work John Smyth has created over the course of four decades in critical education research. Together they cover how to: conceptualize a problem, issue, or question, get your hands dirty in the field, read, reflect and theorize, make sense of data, write and develop narrative portraits, and start all over again with a new set of questions. John Smyth and Peter McInerney are faculty members of Federation University Australia. Barry Down is a faculty member of Murdoch University, Perth. Robert Hattam is a faculty member of the University of South Australia. Annotation c2014 Ringgold, Inc., Portland, OR (protoview.com)
