Morris Raphael Cohen (1880–1947) was Professor of Philosophy at City College of New York from 1912 to 1938. The most prominent figure in American philosophy and philosophic studies of his era, he also taught at the University of Chicago and The New School for Social Research. His other books include Reason and Nature, Law and the Social Order, andThe Meaning of Human History.
