商品簡介
Exploring the literary representations and imagining of the three world cities, Ridda traces an evolutionary path of analysis that foregrounds how socio-economic shifts have shaped the re-imaging of these cities. She look at South Asian diasporic texts and Bollywood films chronologically to investigate how travel between cities influences the process of identity construction both in the home countries and host countries. As an alternative to familiar journeys between India and Britain, she charts the transition from London-centric studies of postcolonial city spaces to a new axis of Bombay, London, and New York.
