商品簡介

The 18 chapters in this volume examine the function of concurrent enrollment programs that provide high-achieving high school students with the opportunity to take courses for college credit that are taught by college-approved high school teachers, to aid in their preparation and readiness for college. Education and others specialists from universities in the US look at programs around the US offered by private and public colleges and universities by comparing them with Project Advance, a program of Syracuse U. that began in 1972. Chapters profile concurrent enrollment programs from Syracuse U., the U. of Minnesota-Twin Cities, and the community college Rio Salado in Arizona, then describe the components of these programs, such as professional development and advising; specific state policies related to concurrent enrollment; and research and evaluation studies on retaining students, economic literacy, and effects on college student performance and persistence, income and other areas.
