The Youngstown story often is told with a beginning in iron and steel and ending in decay with a subplot driven by violent mobsters and corrupt politicians. Aiming to provide a more well-rounded examination of Youngstown, this collection of essays provides an authentic look at the city through a diverse set of experiences from the perspectives of those who have lived there. Readers will gain a sense of the past, present, and future of the city.

Jacqueline Marino is a journalist and associate professor. Her writing has appeared in many publications including The Christian Science Monitor, Cleveland Magazine, Parents.com, and River Teeth Journal. She is the author of White Coats. She lives in Kent, Ohio. Will Miller is the director of institutional research and effectiveness at Flagler College, where he also teaches in political science and public administration. His essays and articles have largely been published in academic journals. He is originally from the Youngstown, Ohio area, but he now lives in St. Augustine, Florida.
