African Studies in the Academy ― The Cornucopia of Theory, Praxis and Transformation in Africa?

Taking as analogy stories of the same hunt by the hunter and by the hunted, African historians and social scientists argue that studies of Africa cannot rely on the written records or political legacies of Euro-American colonialism. They explore such topics as the coming-of-age of super-colonialism, African indigenous belief systems on the crossroads: the tsikamutanda and witchcraft-related disputes in 21st-century Zimbabwe, reinventing nhimbe: the deployment of indigenous knowledge systems in partnerships for development, Zimbabwe land tenure impact on development and justice delivery, election management bodies in Nigeria and the question of independence, and oratio: a framing of knowledge in the context of technology and academia.
