Success: Can be Planned and Earned

The good performers and most ambitious amongst today's youngsters dream about their future success - some from their high school days and most of them as they step into the campus of their college or technical or professional development institutions.

Those who are average or lagging behind in performance and, as such, not so ambitious by nature or have never received much encouragement from their parents, elders, teachers and tutors - rather have faced adverse criticism quite often thereby becoming 'losers' rather than 'winners' by nature, do long for success like their more confident peers, but their imagined worlds are filled with shadows of darkness.

However, all these success-seekers may not necessarily be zoomed on the right track. Right from the 'winner' high school dreamers to the campus visionaries as well as the 'loser' youngsters would have already chosen streams which might offer job opportunities but may not suit their temperament and inherent potentials. As a result, they may start moving but may stumble after progressing some distance on the success highway.

These youngsters and their well-wishers have no inkling that success can be planned and it can also be earned. The process of planning for success ought to start from the onset of the teenage with crystallising proper perceptions of success (P1), reviewing those regularly as the teenager grows and matures in body and mind and evaluating each (P1) with his potentials for success (P2) - what are his strengths and natural inclinations. Then, nearer the time the youngster is ready to embark on a career, he has to track the prospects for success (P3) in the career or job market. Once the prospects are identified, the right time arrives to chalk out a step-by-step plan (P4). Thereafter, once the plan is ready, performance (P5) according to the plan must begin.
