Fatherhood Unspoken What Dads Feel But Rarely Say

I never imagined that being a dad would feel like this. Not just the love--everybody talks about the love. I mean the pressure. The doubt. The frustration. The moments when I'm standing in the middle of my living room, surrounded by kids who are yelling, laughing, or crying, wondering if I'm doing anything right.
As a Black man, I know what it's like to carry the weight of expectations. I know what it means to be told to "be strong," "man up," and to never let anyone see you sweat. But fatherhood? It's a whole different weight. One that pulls at your heart even as it pushes you to your limits.
This book is my story. But it's also every dad's story--especially for those of us trying to be good men, even when we don't always get it right. It's about the joy and mess of raising kids in a world that doesn't always make room for dads to be vulnerable, let alone imperfect.
I'm not here to give you a playbook. I'm here to tell you the truth: that fatherhood will break you open in ways you never expected. And that's the beauty of it. Because those cracks are from where the light gets in.
