The American Oath Project: Protecting the Backbone of Democracy

The American Oath Project proposes the pursuit of civil lawsuits designed to promptly end Mr. Trump's Presidential Employment Contract for both premeditated and ongoing, cumulative and coordinated breaches of the Presidential Oath of Office, and for committing "fraud in the inducement" by lying when he took the Oath.

It presents a legal strategy grounded in centuries of contract and agency common law blended with a "four corners" reading of the Constitution. It outlines civil legal claims to directly address Mr. Trump's:

1. declining mental and physical capacity;
2. compulsive lying and the rewriting of history and science;
3. on-going, blatant abuses of the emoluments clause;
4. the corrupt use of the pardon power;
5. threats of and illegal use of the military for acts of war;
6. attacks on people and institutions exercising their first amendment rights;
7. Denying due process and equal protections rights to hundreds of thousands documented and undocumented immigrants;
8. Actively working to politicize the military;
9. Illegally "nationalizing" State National Guard troops for deployment in democratic American cities;
10. Converting ICE into a functional personal para-military force loyal only to Mr. Trump;
11. Actively moving to control the outcome of the mid-term elections;
12. Threatening and suing federal court judges;
13. Frequently ignoring, directly and indirectly, federal court orders.
