A study was conducted in the Theni district of Tamil Nadu, India, to document the use of 237 medicinal plant species among residents in five Taluks. Data was collected through questionnaires and interviews with local healers and community members. The plants were mainly used to treat skin ailments, jaundice, diabetes, headaches, and stomachaches, with details organized by plant name, local name, parts used, treatment methods, and illnesses treated. A Digital Flora of Theni District was created to preserve this knowledge using PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and JQUERY. The research aims to protect ethnomedicinal practices and species via conservation strategies and DNA barcoding. For authentication, Physalis minima's chloroplast DNA was analyzed, showing a 100% similarity with existing data, while Physalis walteri showed 99.79% similarity. The study underscores the importance of preserving traditional healing practices for future health benefits.
