It contains many amusing and some sad recollections, ending with his time as a rebellious National Service recruit; Part Two explores the shifting terrain of an adulthood that has spanned seven eventful decades. Poignant, humorous, and sometimes caught on the edge of the primeval and the mysterious, these poems paint a vivid picture of John's perspective on life from the vantage point of his 94 years.
