Augustine The Warrior

Augustine the Warrior is the uncut version of Gloria A Love Story. Augustine the Warrior was edited to create Gloria A Love Story. Though the uncut version, Augustine the Warrior, follows the same storyline, it includes additional content and variations not present in Gloria A Love Story.

The book, Augustine the Warrior, is a crueler, harder look at a broken, uncivilized, dystopian future civilization. It focuses on more mature relationship dynamics between the main characters and includes steamier romantic elements. The uncut version explains more about the character, Sarah, and her close relationship with Augustine.

This romance novel contrasts a broken world with customs that differ from those of today and depicts spicy love scenes among Augustine, Gloria, and Sarah, as well as the difficulties Augustine faces. It is a unique love story set in both 2026 and over 200 years in a broken, devastated future place.

For over two hundred years, the world had no social order, no governments, no law enforcement, and no civility whatsoever. The future is a broken and devastated place. In that world, over two centuries in the future, only two factions remained: mostly the wicked, who thrived on depravity and debauchery, and the much smaller number of good, who follow a priest called Manhig.

A sister-and-brother team of scientists developed an instrument capable of viewing the past. Together, they had worked on it for years until by 2026 AD, they could see some images of the future as well as the past. What they observed was so startling that they allowed the U.S. Government to access it. Without help, the leader of the righteous, Manhig, is about to fall to the wicked, leaving no balance between good and evil. Wickedness is about to control the future.

The United States Army sends Captain Augustine 'Gus' Tadlock, its best-qualified commando, over two hundred years into that ravaged future. His mission is to find the Manhig and evaluate him to determine whether he is a good leader, as they believe he is.

However, nowhere near the Manhig; he is at a wicked location. While gathering information about Manhig's whereabouts, Augustine's first glimpse of the future is of a brutal place. The wicked lead unbridled, licentious lifestyles. Among other unholy things, human slavery exists. While in that wicked place, Augustine discovers where Manhig is. However, the good-hearted Augustine comes upon and frees a young slave girl, Gloria. Not knowing what to do with her, he brings her back to his campsite. There, he attempts to heal her repressed trauma of slavery before they can set out to find Manhig. Then their adventure begins.

There are touching depictions of Gloria and Augustine bonding after they meet. Then many stirring, warming moments as Augustine and Gloria become closer. Augustine and Gloria forge a lifelong friendship with Manhig. Romances unfold, some ending in heartbreak. Suspenseful battle scenes add action. A bit of humor also appears in the least expected places. A reader might be keyed up one moment, then eyes tearing the next, in this outstanding emotional read.

A little more than halfway through the book, a totally unexpected and shocking event occurs, sending the storyline spinning in a different direction.

The novel Gloria offers well-developed characters with twists and turns abound. It has an exquisitely creative, steamy, and beguiling literary plot.
