Feeling Puzzled - For Children is designed to help children process their feelings. This book gives simple definitions that are easy for children to understand and shows how a primary emotion can be explored to uncover the complex feelings that we use to process who we are. By giving a feeling words, we can communicate better to share what we are going through and the more detailed we can get means a more effective understanding of our feelings.
I started using the Feelings Wheel to help my children share their emotions of going through a divorce. I was constantly explaining what the words meant and then having to reexplain them into words that were easier for them to understand. I was becoming tired of always explaining these definitions to them and wanted to understand what all of this meant to them so I started to write everything down into terms they could understand. By finally listening more than talking I was able to get a clearer picture of what they were feeling.
