This volume is concerned with urbanization in Asia and particularly China. The first lecture deals briefly with urban/metropolitan patterns and processes in the United States. The second then suggests a different metropolitan regional paradigm in Asia and particularly China. The third focuses on the problem of metropolitan water supply as illustrated by North China.
