This book analyses the regulatory development for the UN Security Council’s exercise of authority with an original perspective of ‘proximity’-- a concept that refers to the ‘distance’ between the UN Security Council’s authority to maintain ‘international’ peace and security on the one hand, and individuals and entities which are primarily governed by domestic law on the other. The author argues that the Security Council’s exercise of authority is becoming proximate to domestic actors which are primarily subject to national law.
