This book examines peer aggression in schools using a new conceptual lens. It looks at peer aggression in all its forms and provides a unique global picture for educators and policy makers in understanding multifaceted school violence and aggression. The book reports on the findings from a study of young people across 10 countries (Australia, China, Greece, India, Indonesia, Korea, The Philippines, Poland, Spain and Taiwan), which examines the level of aggression experienced at school. Using statistical data from questionnaires, as well as the students’ own words and illustrations, this study looks beyond bullying and assesses the harm to mental health and wellbeing of young people experiencing peer aggression in all its forms. This book is the first in a global movement that recommends a new dialogue on peer aggression, one that delves into the poorly understood nexus of peer aggression and bullying.
