An Evaluation of the Water Quality Index and Health Risk

Globally, since two decades, ground water contamination by fluoride and nitrate is of major public health concern. Continuous consumption of contaminated drinking water affects the human health. Fluoride and nitrate contamination in drinking water is of greater public health concern in many regions of the world. These ions are regarded as non carcinogenic risk to human health for adults, children, and infants. Health risk assessment plays a crucial role in groundwater assessment. In this book, an evaluation of the health risks and the water quality index associated with the nitrate and fluoride contamination of drinking water has been carried out.
