八福地【中英雙語版】

本書以中英雙語呈現了一位華裔太空人小李的生命故事。從月球基地的靜謐獨思開始，小李在遠離地球的孤寂中回望人生得失，思念新婚妻子貝蒂，思索航天事業的未來。一場突如其來的颶風打亂了他返回地球的計劃，卻為他開啟了更廣闊的人生探索。

重返波士頓後，小李與貝蒂在多元文化的“八福地”公寓安家，結識了來自各族的鄰居，逐漸融入美國郊區的社區生活。從蔚藍鎮的遊園會到山坡農場的友人相聚，從遊泳池的小小沖突到秋日紅葉的詩意吟誦，每一個片段都細膩地描繪了他們在跨文化婚姻中的理解與成長。

胡宏，本名胡世沛，生於四川雙流，畢業於台灣東海大學，赴美專攻半導體。在美國東北大學獲博士學位，以設計 IC 為業。1990 年創速波公司，研發網路產品。2002 年返東北大學任客座教授。

由於參加大波士頓區中華文化協會（簡稱文協）的各項文藝活動，作者發現小說創作的興趣。1988 年與文協好友創辦藝文小集，先後發表多篇作品刊載於文協通訊、波士頓新聞等刊物。為慶祝文協成立五十週年，作者撰寫劇本燦爛的星光並輔助演出。著作有：長篇小說《黑鷹》由台灣黎明出版社發行（2014）。作者還彙集二十年來行及八國十四地的游記、小說、新詩等納入《悠遊》一書（2014）出版，近年出版了《領空與視野》（2019／EHGBooks），《撒穀子在風裏》（2022／EHGBooks），《拾》（2024／EHGBooks），《玖　登月》（2026／EHGBooks）。

Spencer Hu, whose real name is Hu Shih-Pei, was born in Shuangliu, Sichuan Province. He graduated from Tunghai University in Taiwan and went to the United States to specialize in semiconductors. He received his Ph.D. from Northeastern University and worked as an IC designer. In 1990, he founded Speedwave Company, developing network products. In 2002, he returned to Northeastern University as a visiting professor.
Through participating in various cultural activities of the Greater Boston Chinese Cultural Association (CCA), the author discovered his interest in novel writing. In 1988, he and friends from the CCA founded an arts and literature magazine, and published several works in publications such as the CCA newsletter and the Boston News. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the CCA, the author wrote the script for "Brilliant Stars" and assisted in its production. His works include the novel "Black Hawk," published by Liming Publishing House in Taiwan (2014). The author also compiled his travelogues, novels, and new poems from his travels to eight countries and fourteen places over the past twenty years into the book “Leisurely Travel” (2014). In recent years, he has published “Airspace and Vision” (2019/EHGBooks), “Scattering Millet in the Wind” (2022/EHGBooks), “Picking Up” (2024/EHGBooks), and “Nine: Landing on the Moon” (2026/EHGBooks).

It wasn’t until five days later that Xiao Li saw his bride again. In their new home, they met their new neighbors; it turned out to be a multi-ethnic, multi- generation apartment complex. Xiao Li also introduced Betty to his old friends— mostly are from various countries who loved nature, worked hard, and were open-minded.
On a chancy occasion, Xiao Li took Betty back to his birthplace, Chengdu, China. He shared all his childhood memories with her, and they discovered a common bond in their hearts, beginning to appreciate the joys this environment offered.
