The topicality of the monograph is determined by the growing importance of foreign language education in Uzbekistan.The aim of the monograph is to identify the cultural peculiarities of speech economy in English spoken discourse across different media contexts through a cross-cultural approach.The object of the monograph is the process of studying speech economy in the English and Uzbek languages.The subject of the monograph is the structural-semantic and cultural characteristics of speech economy in English and Uzbek.The following research methods were employed in the study: linguistic description, classification, linguocultural analysis, cross-cultural analysis, modeling, experimental methods, and statistical analysis.The theoretical significance of the research consists in its contribution to linguocultural and discourse studies through expanding the understanding of how speech economy functions in authentic spoken English discourse.The practical significance of the research is determined by the possibility of applying its findings in English language teaching, particularly in courses on cultural linguistics, contrastive linguistics, and methodology of foreign language teaching.
