本書出版至今已有二十餘年，閱讀本書學者、工作者應已超過十多萬人,對國內企業界實施品管有莫大的助益，對品質作人員影響深遠，深受肯定。 本書出版後一直還未修版，這次品質學會與品管先進旅居美國的房克成老師溝通同意下，由學生代為作修版的工作。為了符合本書原有的特質及平易近人的用語，在修改過程中，儘可能不影響本書品質，以少改的原則作修版的動作，其修版的重點為1. 將原有排版印錯字部份全部更正。2.一部份的用語，符號，含義修改。3. 圖及表的排序重新編號調整。4."製程管制"本來放在附錄，現調整為第9章，同時章節,內容次序作變動。5. 附表部份刪除重覆部份，以節省篇幅，同時並依章節次序重新排列。6. 最後綜合測驗題增加很多，以含概每個章節對應的題目，增加學習的效果。此次改版時間匆促，有疏漏之處，在所難免，並期請愛好本書之讀者先進不吝指教
